taco dip

What ingredients are in taco dip?

It’s likely you already have these ingredients in your pantry and fridge.

  • refried beans
  • taco seasoning: chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, onion powder, paprika, and salt
  • your favorite hot sauce
  • cream cheese
  • jalapenos, seeded and diced
  • jar of chunky salsa
  • shredded cheese
  • black olives
refried beans with seasonings

How is it made?

  1. Add beans, taco seasoning, and hot sauce to a bowl and mix. Spread the seasoned refried beans to the bottom of a dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, whip together softened cream cheese and diced jalapenos with a hand mixer. Spread this layer over the beans.
  3. Add 1/2 a jar of salsa, shredded cheese, and black olives.

Easy, right? I like to whip the cream cheese because it makes it creamier and blends more of the jalapeno flavor into it. Fold it in, if you rather.

Favorite way to eat dip

Serve this dip with tortilla chips, pitas, veggie sticks, or add a spoonful to your tacos. I also like to make a taco salad out of it. Spread the dip on a plate, add lettuce and your favorite taco toppings, plus crumbled tortilla chips. Yum!

This dip is a great start, but don’t let the ingredients listed hold you back. Add some more layers to make it your own. Plus you can switch up a few things for a different flavor.

Can I make it ahead of time?

Yup! Make this creamy bean dip and store covered in the refrigerator up to 2 days until ready to serve. The salsa can make it a little soggy, so you could just add the bean and cream cheese layers, adding the salsa, cheese, and olives right before serving.

Be sure to only leave out up to 2 hours. Otherwise, keep chilled and covered.
